Explanation / Answer
Answer:
OTC drugs are those drugs that we can buy without the medical prescription. They are regulated by FDA.
Any OTC must include doses, ingredients, and labelling.
On the other hand, tobacco is also under the regulation of FDA since 2009 after Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act passed by Congress.
According to my view, we cannot compare OTC drugs to tobacco because tobacco is not an over the counter drug and there are several products that contain tobacco as an ingredient.
It is true fact that use of tobacco is very harmful and it is one of the main cause of death not only in the U.S but across the globe.
In order to reduce the health hazard and death due to tobacco use. The government should regulate the limit of usage of tobacco.
