Explanation / Answer
Answer .)
Desire theory can improve the situation than Hedonism. Desire theories hold that happiness involves getting what you need (Griffin, 1986), with the substance of the need surrendered over to the individual who does the needing. Desire theory subsumes hedonism when what we need is heaps of pleasure and little pain. Like hedonism, desire theory can clarify why a gelato is desirable over a jab in the eye. Nonetheless, hedonism and desire theory frequently go separate ways. Hedonism holds that the prevalence of pleasure over pain is the formula for happiness regardless of whether this isn't what one desires most. Desire theory holds that that satisfaction of a desire adds to one's happiness paying little respect to the measure of pleasure (or displeasure). One evident preferred standpoint of Desire theory is that it can comprehend Wittgenstein. He needed truth and brightening and battle and purity, and he didn't much desire pleasure. His life was "awesome" as indicated by Desire theory since he accomplished a greater amount of truth and light than most mortals, despite the fact that as a "negative affective," he encountered not so much pleasure but rather more pain than a great many people.
Nozick's (1974) encounter machine (your lifetime is in a tank with your cerebrum wired up to yield any encounters you need) is turned down in light of the fact that we desire to acquire their pleasures and achievements. We need them to come to fruition because of right activity and great character, not as a fantasy of mind science. So the Desire standard for happiness moves from Hedonism's measure of pleasure felt to the to some degree less subjective condition of how well one's desires are satisfied.
