Explanation / Answer

The Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E) program is a popular program in most schools due to the massive increase in drug and alcohol abuse by teenaged kids. However, research suggests that this program is ineffective and has no affect on the students who are drug or alcohol dependent. The program has a few loopholes; it is only an awareness program. It does little to help kids come out of it. However, schools continue to implement the program to continue with the awareness. The program was designed in a time when it was effective. However, with the changing times it has become ineffective. It is continued to be used in schools only to spread awareness.
