Question
The sensory systems, including the visual, auditory, somatosensory and pain, taste and olfactory (chemical senses), and vestibular are covered in this module. Students examine how we use these to interpret the world around us and study the importance of these senses to our successful functioning and survival.
Considering the information you learned so far, if you had to give up one of your senses, which one would you give up and why? Provide your reasoning and support it with evidence. Be sure to discuss your rationale for not choosing the other senses.
Explanation / Answer
If I had to let go and give up one sense it would be the olfactory sensory systems
The olfactory sensory system is related to smell. The reason to give up this sense is because it helps us become aware of any danger in the environment through our sense of smell.Today we have enough amenities in order to become aware of any danger or stimuli in our environment through visual, auditory system.
