1. Stress is our system of energy that motivates us to accomplish our and helps to face the threats of life by fight or flight mechanism. Stress in smaller quantities is helpful for us to accomplish our the tasks of daily life, but stress that stays on with us is harmful and may act as impediment ti successfully carry out our daily life.

2. Stress is natural response system that enables us to face a percieved threat or to face problem that needs to be solved. Stress involves rush of catecholamine hormones as adrenaline and noradrenaline, that prepares body for fight or fight mechanism. This mechanism includes bodily changes as increased heart rate, increased blood pressure, tension, slowing down of digestion process etc. These changes when stays than longer in prolonged stress situations causes ailments as increased blood pressure, lowers immunity, anxiety, digestion related problems etc. Thus, stress translates to ailments.

3. General Adaptation Syndrome of Hans Seyle divides three stages of how body responds to stressors. First stage is Alarm Stage in which the body prepares to face the stressors by increased rush of hormones, in a fight or flight mechanism.The second stage is Resistance Stage in which the body tries to adapt or resist by repairing itself. Third stage is Exhaustion Stage in which body is depleted of energy and requires replenishment. It explains through these stages how we cope stress conditions and explains the negative impacts of prolonged stress on the body.
