In its statement of purpose, the National Oragnistaion for Women (NOW) attempts to consolidate its actions towards grassroots activism in order to promote feminist ideals of gender equality and dignity of women to work in diverse professional fields without any discrimination in job selection and remuneration due to sex. In addition, the organisation aimed to lead societal change and protect the equal rights of all women and girls in all aspects of social, political, and economic life. Thus, all in all. The founding members of NOW resolved to focus on securing fair and equal opportunities available to women more in the larger collective or public sphere rather than addressing the equality or the inequality received by women in terms of their rights and opportunities within their domestic or private spaces.
