Managing Stress

At this point in your MBA program, you are unquestionably familiar with the stressors associated with graduate-level academic achievement. Most of you juggle demands in multiple sectors of your lives—e.g., school, work, and/or family.   Before you begin your discussion for this week, take a minute to give yourself credit for everything you are accomplishing.

Let’s shift to stress in the workplace.

1.   What is the most stressful aspect of the work you currently do or work you did in a former job?

2.   How could leaders support employees who are experiencing similar stressors?

3.   You may want to conduct brief research on this topic and bring some ideas from your search for this week’s discussion. Remember to include references.

Explanation / Answer

Stress Management is the most important topic to be discussed for those people who have started their work or doing the same work for long duration as they feel so much stressed out by doing this continuously.Stress is the feeling when a person can't do what he wants instead made to do some other work to live happily according to his society(surroundings). This feeling may also occur when a person is made to do a work in a way that he never liked to do it.

In my experience, the most stressful moment was being in bench while waiting for the project to be assigned and later I was even frustrated when I joined the project as a fresher and not given complete work instead of asked to do small activities which are just 10 to 20% of the complete work. Actually I was being trained to take that job but I couldn't wait for some time.

Leaders have different ways to manage the stress and they help their employees to come out of that stress by explaining the need of their job and way to do it without stress but the employees can't follow all the ways that they were taught to live a stress free life. It requires some practice and mindset to manage the stress and get out of it.

I want to conclude this by saying stress can not be avoided completely but it can be well managed by making and following some rules in one's life, so that he can live a happy life without stress.
