Explanation / Answer

When carrying ourself in front of the world in manners different from what they actually are, people try to fit themselves in the society. For many people, this facade is absolutely necessary to be a part of a social group or a secondary group. Unless this facade is put on, the person is identified to be an outcast or would be continuously ostracised for being the “odd” one. In such cases, a person begins to rely upon the facade so much so that they tend to believe the facade being true, developing a parallel personality within themselves, mostly suppressed.

For example, a person may inherently be an introvert, but in order to fit in a group, they start displaying an extroverted face, without being able to share their closest or the most important feelings, and building it up. Such people begin being frustrated within themselves, which when reaches an extreme form, becomes dissociative identity disorder.
