The course I am taking is IDS-401 Global Society at SNHU

Utilizing interdisciplinary approaches, explain how global connectedness and a topic(how the digital divide has not helped women recieve better education in the global south) that has been discussed in this course have influenced the development of national identity.

In other words, how has national identity changed in a more global society?

Using relevant research or diverse perspectives, assess the benefits and challenges of global connectedness.

Explanation / Answer

Global connectedness- The word Global connectedness influenced in past few decades by the digital connection throughout the World.

The information technology played a very important role to connect the world and make the world smaller. Present time we have seen rapid changes in cultures, education, creativity etc. and the connectedness helped us to reach at this level but on the other hand, the changes effects the globe in dual nature, some communities used this for right ways but others did not utilize it.

Women and Global connectedness- The multidimensional world has affected the communities, western countries and Asian countries and Latin countries experienced different kind of changes with the respect of women interest. The global connectedness helped people in different ways. Education, human rights and other social aspects influenced by global connectedness.

The south world experienced different kind of problems, in this part of world global connectedness partially helped women and tribal communities to reach the education through global connectedness.

Reasons-

1- Lack of infrastructure, poverty and social pressure effected the education of women in south.

2- Socio-economic development and distance of women between social and digital development played an important role and it affected the education, social formation and many other aspects.

3- The digital development need a pre social infrastructure and social acceptance to influence in right way to society but some part of world were not ready to go for that kind of changes.

Pros and Cons of Digital development and global connectedness-

1- The Global connectedness helped people to get connected with the world and it developed good understanding among cultures and communities.

2- The digital development provided ideas, views, political understanding and scientific approaches.

3- The digital development experienced some cons like, digital divide, spreading of rumours and fake information.

4- The high level of educational development made possible by global connectedness but on the other hand this connectedness helped to spread negative ideologies.

Conclusion- The global connectedness is very important for social and cultural developments as well as educational but without border we have experienced serious security issues, cybercrimes and ethical issues as well.
