1. Case study: An individual who consumes large amounts of Vitamin J on a daily basis can be identified. An interview can be conducted with this individual, focusing on her memory capacities. She can also be observed for 2-3 days and her diet habits can be tracked.
2. Correlation: A group of individuals maybe chosen to participate for the study. They can then asked to fill up a questionnaire that asks them details about their Vitamin J consumption on a weekly basis. Next, they can be administered cognitive tasks that evaluate their memory capacities. This data can be analysed by finding the correlation by the reported Vitamin J consumption and the score on the memory task.
3. Experiment: In this case, a number of individuals can be randomly chosen to participate in the study and three participant groups can be created. One receiving food with no Vitamin J, one with 10 grams of Vitamin J and one with 20 grams. These three groups can then be administered a memory task. The results can be obtained by analysing whether there are any significant differences in the performance of the memory task across the 3 groups.
