In this case, the implementation of a payment system at a new football stadium has gone very poorly and the CEO, Jose Eduardo Sampaio, is considering replacing the vendor and software. In your initial post, provide your recommendations to Mr. Sampaio.
Your assessment of what went wrong in the initial implementation may inform your recommendation, as will the information gathered by Mr. Sampaio and his team. Justify your recommendation and include a risk assessment. There are different forms that a risk assessment may take but, at a minimum, it should include an assessment of the likelihood that a risk event will occur, the likely impact of the event and an appropriate mitigation strategy. Please create a table for the risk management.
Explanation / Answer
Mr. Sampairo should not continue with the Meag, which has already done too many blunders, overlooking key operations and going ahead with technically incompatible systems, not good enough to support the requirements resulting in a mess, not once but twice. It can not be relied any further for such big projects.
Out of the other options available, Processos Creativos seems to be the only viable option, because it is ready to run on the existing set up, with modifications, and within the stipulated time. Second option SVDI is not sure if it can match up till the next match, and the third Restifor will be too expensive to change over to, while still not sure if its proposed technology will match up with existing wintouch system.
More informed decision can be taken on the basis of additional information like cost of three alternatives vs. benefits derived, risk of obsolecence, flexibility to meet the changing needs of the future, compatibility with future technologies, projected growth rate of the spectator population at the stadium and at the bar / restaurant and the number of times it must be used to pay for itself, with payback period.
The breach of contract suit from the Meag should not be successful, given the company's inability to perform and fulfill the obligations of the contract.
