Explanation / Answer

1. McDonaldization was a term that had been developed by George Ritzer. This was explained in his book McDonaldization of the society. This was in response to the society and the characteristics that was adopted by the society similar to a fast food restaurant. This process is defined as the reconceptualisatiom of the society and the rational aspects of the scientific management. According to Ritzer, the model of a fast food is a more representative model for depicting the changing direction of the society.

This refers to the principles of the fast food that are now dominating the various sectors of the American society and the remaining world. I believe McDonaldisation is not a good process. This is because, the four integrated principles of control, predictability, calculability and efficiency. Though these principles were built on rational strategies, these strategies were present within narrow scopes could be leading to outcomes that are either irrational or harmful. With the spread of these processes there is a new cultural characteristics of the society as well as social characteristics. This results in unification of the consumer patterns with hybridisation of the cultures.
