The application of Motivation is essential to motivational factors, and thus provoking action. Regarding motivational theories, they are quite extensive as their taxonomy range from distinguishing varying “types” of motivation contrary to “levels” of motivation (Bandura,1996), behaviors, thoughts, and emotions (Oka, 2005). Other theorists such as Hull (1943) and Skinner (1965), and cognitive theories of Bandura (1989), acknowledge level differences with little attention given to the varying types of motivation. For example, individuals motivated in particular areas are expected to perform their task more extensively than those less motivated. Therefore, the level of motivation became the extenuating factor of their level of performance.

Research suggests five main theories of motivation relevant to organizations, four of them are from psychological origins and

one developed with work environments. How might you find your motivation? In other words, what motivates you?

Answer: I feel that there is no single factor which is alone responsible for motivating me. But I feel that recognition is the thing which motivates me to perform well. When my work gets recognized I feel like working more. Recognition provides me with a cause from within to work hard and achieve so that my work gets recognized by the others. The second factor which motivates me is the money. Money is considered to be a universal motivator which motivates most of us. When I perceive that I can get monetary benefit out of an activity I get motivated to work. Apart from these two factors there are certain other factors which in varying degree motivate me to do work like working conditions, fair treatment and at times it is also fear that motivates me to do things. Thus it can be established that there is no single entity which motivates me but it is actually a combination of things which motivate me.
