Question

Many elements of academia are practical application of elements that you will be exposed to in your future/current profession. From working with difficult people, unclear communication, to even the accepted evaluation systems (grading criteria), the more you maintain your own ethical accountability now, the more apt you are to remain ethically balanced as a practitioner (thus the premise for this course). However, the same faulty tendencies exist in academia as they do within organizations (as seen in this section of the text): managers/educators focus predominately on negative information and unload it all at once OR 'whitewash' (to sugar coat and overlook any negative or errors) and act like everything is okay, when it really is not. (1) As students (future/current practitioners), which extreme would you be more accepting of (overly negative or blindly positive) and what is the benefit of choosing the one selected over the other? (2) How would you maintain ethical practice in your chosen extreme? (3) What are the potChtial problems that you may face for complacency of your chosen circumstance?

Explanation / Answer

I suppose blindly positive would atleast have some amount of faith and confidence in me. If I would choose to be blindly positive then I would frame the subject, the area with my own vision. I can also create lot of dreams, and all off the dreams would certainly be of positive nature.

I can maintain ethical practice by being ethical, having self competition related to subject, maintaining good standards during study or exam practice would help me in preparing for it.

The potential problems can be future problems that I might encounter as I have seen everything with rose tinted glass. Many unethical teachers or any malpractices that I have to deal with.
