- One of the primary reasons for this is that there would be a complete reshaping of the knowledge base thstthe student is already having.

- in many cases, the students are not even aware that the knowledge they hold is incorrect or is a misconception. It is impossible to correct a conception that a person is not aware is incorrect.

- through these conceptions, students have built over these concepts and witnessed new experiences. The new experiences are also built upon these concepts and as a result changing the basic concept would mean changing the past experiences and their perceptions as well.
