BSR provides cabs, bicycles, vans and armored trucks for moving important packages between businesses in the various cities and surrounding suburbs (approx. 125 miles along a waterfront and 100 miles wide edging into foothills) in a “northern” climate with significant weather variations. Obviously, security is an issue for BSR. Currently, they provide training programs on personal security and on the BSR’s standards for securing packages. Their standards are being met in all areas except customer service. Since customer service is about relationship building between customer and the runner, it may be challenging to build a learning solution that satisfies the need. However, your contact at BSR believes that their Runners are their ultimate image. Therefore, this customer problem needs to be fixed and they will do anything at all to fix it. You have been hired to build a low-tech training solution for these associates. Based on the information below, what are the key cognitive issues, and memory/attention factors that you will consider in your designs? Since, maximum issues are on how service delivery employees are behaving/ operating/ not doing/ maintaining the right customer relationship management, it can be improved as below:

Few online motivating videos, Customer service and on importance of customer relationship management, Reward videos etc. can be designed, which can be frequently shown to these young employees to keep them boosted up for always trying to deal in the same way for all team leaders, sales executives and managers. Also, incentive programs weekly/ monthly based performance for those who score more on customer satisfaction, received via surveys and feedbacks from client.

Besides, role play for customer service should be often practised, which will keep the fun in the workplace going on, along with learning ambience. Make peer-to-peer feedback system, helping to know each other strengths and weakness, resulting in self and team improvement.

Work culture, team work, ambience, understanding each other, working towards individual plus team targets are key factors to decrease occupational stress and improve job satisfaction, improving employee productivity, operational efficiency and company revenue and profit.
