an adolescent’s personal fable.

the idea of an imaginary audience.

raging hormones in adolescence.

Explanation / Answer

The conflict with parents often happen due to raging hormones in adolescence. The main changes we get to see is in mood:-mood swings, fights with parents etc.Hormones involve in puberty like androgen, gonadotrophin, sex steroids also contribute in these changes.During puberty emotional and sexual hormones are at their peak.adolscent believe in a lot of things.for ex-they believe in personal fable which means that they think as if they are unique and special and no matter what how they behave they will never be affceted by the worldy problems and so on.This can be better understood by the example like in america one of the black girl use to bully a brown girl because of her skin color inspite knowing the fact that she herself is a black lady she use to do racism. This is because she is under influence of personal fable where she tends to believe that no matter what how she behave she will never be affected by the worldly consequences.

The next is an idea of an imaginary audience-the adolescent feels that what ever he is doing a large number of people is observing him. This can be effective also.for example a person tends to improve himself under the constant scrutinity of the imaginary people similarly it can be harmful also because a person can be demotivated .for ex-a teenage having pimples on her face will constantly think that other person's are judging her and she might avoid going to public places or outing with friends etc.

Decontextualized thinking-In the decontextualized thinking teenage believe that everything which is said is in respect with to them.If a person is saying something in general sense teenage believe that it is said in respect to him.

Raging hormones in adolescence-sexual hormones are at their peak they believe that everyone is against them they became rebellious.they feel nobody understand them and their feelings.what is happening to them is tragic and nobody can understand their pain and so on.so what Randy is feeling is due to the raging hormones where his sexual hormones are at their peak and other hormones are also involved and hence he feels that his father cannot understand what he is going through and he is the only one to feel this way.
