b. A psychiatrist releases a violent psychotic who has threatened to kill his ex-girlfriend, without taking measures to warn the girlfriend or to assure that the psychotic is properly medicated.
c. A passenger on a commuter rail train tells the conductor he is in need of immediate medical attention.
Explanation / Answer
A). stroke requires imediate attention. It can be treated within 3-4 hours of the incident. The sales clerk should have called for 911 instead of leaving the elderly woman in the infirmary unattended. This could have prevented further aggrevation.
B). The psychiatrist should have treated the psychotic thoroughly and should have taken measures to warn the girlfriend by addressing the issue to her
C).In case of medical emergenct where medical practitioner is not present, 911 should be called and the train should have emergency stop.
