(Answer) Individual: The 2nd amendment states that only the need for a “well-regulated militia” is what entitles people to carry firearms. This means that only the need for defense forces like military or policing is what actually entitles an individual to carry guns. Have you, as an individual who owns a gun and who isn’t a part of the American defense force, ever considered the detailed description of the amendment that the founding fathers set forth?
Impact: The public who is for and against gun-control may actually re-read the amendment and simplify finding a solution.
Group: To the individuals who claim that drunk driving has not managed to abolish the use of cars, and so mass shootings shouldn’t enforce gun-control; have you ever considered that unlike driving, owning a gun does not have a test, age-limit and the regulations of a state DMV to own a gun?
Impact: Number of road accidents has decreased because of strict licensing, registration, insurance and regulations like student drivers needing an adult with them. Also, licenses get revoked if there are too many broken rules. Perhaps these statistics may help groups think better.
Culture: To the culture that says it is not possible to solve this problem since it deals with focusing on old amendments, have you considered that this “impossible problem” does not exist in any other nations as it has been either solved or non-existent?
Impact: Just like net-neutrality is entailed by communication laws that were made in most nations when the telegram and mail were popular, gun-control too is probably regulated by out-dated laws. A country shouldn’t be run by nostalgia about old laws but rather with the vision of the future led by a positive change to accommodate new developments.
