(Answer) Firstly, most children do have a poor appetite. However, a nuance about the childhood of modern children is the lack of fatal diseases. In most countries, diseases like smallpox, cholera, polio and other diseases have almost entirely been eradicated because of the popularity of vaccinations.

Furthermore, in several nations, whooping cough, jaundice, tuberculosis and even malaria vaccinations are administered to this day. These vaccinations are mandatory for all children. They are administered under doctor’s supervision and through government finance. In Europe, cholera has had almost no cases in the last 2 decades. In India, polio is also almost completely eradicated. Widespread government operations in order to administer medications and vaccinations to every corner of the nation have paid off. Upon consideration of one’s personal experiences, one’s childhood has been free of major diseases. Old diseases like jaundice, cholera and even tuberculosis have not been experienced. This is simply because of timely vaccinations. Not only the vaccinations that had been administered to one child alone, but the disease has not been pandemic because of the collective effort of the populace of a certain area.

This gives the disease a lesser chance to spread and thrive. Combating such epidemics has been a collective effort throughout decades. These efforts have been evident in my own affliction-free childhood.
