Explanation / Answer

Journals are important to the field of psychology since journals are responsible in spreading legitimate research. Journal articles contain original research that have been conducted by the researchers, pertaining to a particular area. Journals also include proposals for the theories that have not been tested and these also include opinions on a particular research. This is important since there would be validity of research and reliability of the published data. In the top down approach, there would be analysis made about the bigger picture. In the top down approach, the student would be identifying the main problem, and from the main problem, he would look at the micro and the macro reasons that lead to those problems. The bottom up approach is where the student would be looking at the macro and micro reasons and issues and try and formulate a bigger picture of what these issues are resulting into. Yes, the strategies are important since a combination of both these approaches will give the student a complete picture. Steps in bottom up approach are: Identification of all the smaller components in a society. Prediction of what these smaller components might club into Forming a perception of these integrated factors. Formation of a complete picture of these integrations. Literature chain allows the researcher to include knowledge about the important findings on methodological as well as theoretical aspects in a particular topic. Literature chains will not be reporting any new finding and these act as secondary sources. It is helpful to the researchers since the researchers can get to know the different publications and work that had been done in a particular topic and use them as reference.
