How did Christians view Saracens?

Christians viewed Saracens as pagans who according to the book of Daniel will cause the apocalypse. Christians viewed this event as part of God’s greater plan that they should fight and stop them. The Saracens consist of the Muslim people who are evil and women like. The Saracens were also seen as the punishment for the sinful life of the Christians thus giving an opportunity to get back to God. Christians viewed Saracens as the source of evil and took pride in fighting against them. The Crusades that were fought was part of this mega-plan.
