Due to the increased complexity of the manufacturing process, you are interested in improving the basic skills (e.g., math, reading, writing) of your employees. Two methods look promising—one involving web-based training and the other involving the use of workbooks. The web-based approach would cost about $600,000 and the workbooks about $300,000. As I am affiliated with a particular organization my sample would compromise of people from that particular organization, and the sample size would be roughly 2000 personnel to have an accurate analysis.
Arriving at a conclusion regarding what to do would obviously entail me splitting the group into two treatment groups wherein one group would be administered workbook training over a span of three months and the other would be administered web learning for the same period of time.
After the designated time a test would be administered to all the individual from the concerned groups to gauge how well they have progressed in terms of proficiency in the respective spheres (math, reading and writing)
The study would be a cross between Quantitative and Qualitative study after their score would be tabulated and compared for the two groups.
Respected Sir,
It is an imperative, as an organization, to propel and hone the skills of our employees to give impetus to the morals of our work ethic, and the efficacy of the organization in totality.
Hence, I propose to you to allocate funds to us researchers so that we can gauge well the channel that would be most suitable fro the employees to hone their skills, that is, to understand whether the workbook method is more suitable or the web method.
Results would be implemented as soon as the results are concluded by the study after a span of 5 months, which would be beneficial for both the company and the employees.
