The importance of employee training in any organization:
There are 3 types of trainings:
I would prefer a workshop type of training, as learning is incomplete without applying the concepts in real time. Hands-on of the concepts taught, help in better understanding of the training and thus improves training ROI.
In a manufacturing setup, visual management can help in avoiding accidents and help in efficient utilization of resources. Visual aids can be kept near the machines, to aid the operator as to how the machine operates, what are the possible errors that can happen and how safety can be maintained in the workspace. Visual aids are more impactful and help in increasing the understanding of any concept.
Logs are maintained to record the accidents happening at the workplace. Such logs record the type of accident, the cause and the measures that could have been taken to avoid such accidents in future. Safety issues can be addressed by conducting regular safety audits in the company.
Total Productive maintenance is critical in a capital-intensive plant as it propagates lean manufacturing. The objective of TPM is effective utilization of all available resources during production.
TPM helps in finding faults of the machine and its operator, thus helping in maintaining the quality of the product. TPM helps in avoiding mistakes and accidents, thus keeping the project adherent with timelines. Unnecessary expenditures can be avoided if TPM is effectively implemented in the plant. These factors can influence the top management to buy-in the concept of TPM.
