1. Common law - these laws are created from the past rulings of the court. Statutory laws are written down and passed by the covernment of the country. Administrative laws are on the other created by bodies and departments of the government and have been recognized by the state legislature.

Principle of stare decisis is important because it obligates the court to look at past rulings and pass current judicial decisions based on the precedents set by courts on similar cases in the past. this ensures courts judicial respect of past rulings to maintain integrity of the judiciary system
