Question
Adult sexting is perfectly legal, as it is the sharing of sexually explicit content between two consenting adults. But what about teen sexting – should that be legal? If a 16-year-old boy sends a sext to his 16-year-old partner, should that be considered child pornography? Why or why not?
What circumstances - consequences, society’s opinion, likelihood of effect, time to consequences, relatedness, and reach of result – might move adult sexting from a minor ethical violation to a serious ethical violation and then finally onto a very serious ethical violation?
Consider the whole notion of power being tied to sexting, flirting, and cheating? From a psychological point of view why might this be true? Do some research into Tiger Woods’ troubles with extra-marital affairs. Could his cheating be tied to his position of power? Is “power” an appropriate justification for such actions?
What role can and should employers play in limiting (perhaps eliminating) sexting in the workplace? What about employee-to-employee sexting? What about employee-to-customer sexting? Regarding the latter, what sort of legal liability does an organization have if an employee sends an unwanted and unwelcome sext to another employee or customer?
These are purely for your consideration. No answer is expected. "Have you ever participated in sexting? Have you received a sext? Has learning more about ethics and the non-privacy of technology-enabled communications reshaped your thinking about participating in questionable activities like sexting?"
Explanation / Answer
Adult sexting is perfectly legal, as it is the sharing of sexually explicit content between two consenting adults. This is because they both are mature enough to talk or chat on these topics. As per the rule of the countries the age varies for the Sexting. Adults are mature enough to take the decision on the situation and how to behave accordingly.
The teen sexting – should not be legal because teen is not much mature enough to talk on this topic they need to get more exposure. They are less decisive than the adult. They easily get into the trouble. It is based on the country rules that the age of being adult is defined may describe the pornography. Most of the country who declared the Adult age is Above 18 years hence, according to these countries it is illegal practice. If a 16-year-old boy sends a sext to his 16-year-old partner, it is considered child pornography as most of the country age of adult is more than 18 years.
The consequences such as eagerness to know and then can able to come out, sexting on the particular who is not involve in this, or any content which relation with this does not have been explored creates the crimes among the individual. The society opinion on the sext is that the content which is send may not be safe or secure and hence these practices would destroy the time of the user which can be used for some productive work. The likelihood of effect would be the wastage of time, the feeling of guilty, embarrassment etc. feelings. This actually make the adult to follow the wrong decisions of life. This might move adult sexting from a minor ethical violation to a serious ethical violation and then finally onto a very serious ethical violation.
The psychological point of view that the whole notion of power being tied to sexting, flirting, and cheating might this be true as the reason is that people involve in Greedy activities. They want to show off that they having more power and partner too. They having the proud for this act. They feel superior then others. Just like tiger wood, when he is having cheat, he can perform well but after the cheat being know by others, his performance become very poor. This is all because of self-confident level. Temptation is one of the reason to have such behavior as people hope to know more and wanted to find fun. But as a mature adult, you should responsible to what you had done and do not use temptations as an excuse.
Govern ourselves first in the workplace would help in limiting (perhaps eliminating) sexting in the workplace. Employee-to-employee sexting in the work place reduces the performance of the individual in the workplace and also deteriorates their image. It is unhealthy process.
Employee-to-customer sexting actually leads the employee into trouble and deteriorates the company image in public. The customer may file complaint against the employee and it also effect the company goodwill. The customer may end up with the sexual harassment. Legal liability does an organization have if an employee sends an unwanted and unwelcome sext to another employee or customer as then the company has the liability to restrict these communications. The quality checks are needed for this. Apply the rule about this process.
No, I had never participated in this process and I never receive a Sext. All the answer is no and never. No, technology has changes the communication on instant but my thinking about the sexting is that it is a crime activity done by a certain group of people so as to exploit the people who are not aware of it or in their teen ages.
