Solution:-

1) The probbaility of getting positive effect is 0.50

Total number of children showing positive effects = 50

The probbaility of getting positive effect = 50/100 = 0.50

2) The probability of getting an asian and negative effect is 0.10

Total number of children showing asian and negative effects = 10

The probability of getting an asian and negative effect = 10/100 = 0.10

3) The probability of getting a negative effect or an african race is 0.80.

The number of children getting a negative or an african race = 50 + 30 = 80

The probability of getting a negative effect or an african race = 80/100 = 0.80

4) If child is an african, then the probability of getting a negative effect is 0.5714.

Number of child that are african = 70

Number of child who are afrcian and shows negative effect = 40

If child is an african, then the probability of getting a negative effect = 40/70 = 0.5714
