a) from considering equal populaton variance ; degree of freedom n1+n2-2= 12

therefore at 0.2 level with 2 tailed test and 12 degree of freedom critical value =-1.356 ; 1.356

b)

considering population variance are not equal; from consevative method: degree of freedom =min(n1-1;n2-1)=5

therefore at 0.2 level with 2 tailed test and 5 degree of freedom critical value =-1.476 ; 1.476
