1)Discuss how you will analyze the data descriptively and statistically and identify your anticipated results.
2)Describe the basic components you will examine to determine validity and reliability 3)How will you measure them?
competencies: 1. Categorize qualitative and quantitative evaluation methods in relation to their strengths, limitations, and appropriate uses.
2. Discuss data analysis and the validity and reliability of data in a proposed research study.
Explanation / Answer
1)Identify the primary variables in your proposed study, including the primary independent and primary dependent variables.
The primary variables in this case are
Measle outbreaks : dependent variable
Policy regulations : Independent variable
2)How could you collect the data on these variables?
We check the the policy regulations of 2 schools who have different level of stricitness for measle vaccinations.
Collect data from a sample of students from both the schools
Perform an indepdent samples t test to check if the policy regulations have an effect on the measle outbreak significantly
3)Do you foresee any issues with this, and if so, how will you overcome these issues?
It is difficult to capture students for measles outbreaks , as very few samples would be available to perform a meaningful statisitcal analysis
4)Identify the secondary variables. ( These are the variables that may influence the association between the primary independent and dependent variables.)
The secondry variables could be
