1) Red line of percentile curves was obtained using data from factory-1. In the percentile curve, the dots on the line indicate the observation. Let, the observation on the red line are near to each other means there is lower variability in observation.For the percentile theory, the percentile rank of a raw score is interpreted as the percentages of examinees in the norm group who scored at or below the score of interest. So, in Red line is for factory-1.
2) Factory-2 has production measurements with a larger variance. Let from the box- plot, factory-1 has median 100 and box- plot is looking like symmetric distribution, which suggest that data is come from normal distribution. On other hand, boxplot of factory 2 has median near about 105 and boxplot suggest that there is larger variability in data and it is skewed towards upward direction.
3) If I was supplier, then I choose factory-1 because factory-1 has lower variability than factory-2. And lower variability means less defective which turns to be more profit. In any factory or company, they are interested in minimum standard deviation. It has no required any evaluation.
