1.Characteristics of effective group:
Each member share the common goal.
Each member takes initiative to communicate effectively.
Strong leadership is mandatory in an effective group.
Each member should do fair share of work assigned.
Team members effectively resolve conflict.
Team members should exhibit certain level of emotional quotient in order to understand each others point of view.

The best alternative is chosen with consent of each member.

3. The first step to deal with conflict is to acknowledge the conflict.
Then pause during the conflicting situation and reflect upon it.
Allow each member of the team place his opinions and judgement individually.
if Opinions are not reaching the same goal then split the group into smaller subgroups
Define different goals for each subgroup.
Collaborate the solutions of each group to achieve the common goal of larger group.

4. Steps that our group took to overcome the conflict.
We were given a common task. Then subconsciously each member started to judge other members strength and weaknesses. The conflict arised when the group members wanted the weakest person to leave the group. But the group leader suggested that the members should give the weakest person chance to perform. Then all the members agreed upon the decision of leader. And the weakest person did perform better than other, resulting in winning of the team.
