Question

You are in a TV-program . It is you and another person competing. You get the same 3 questions that only can be answered by a yes or a no. The questions are so hard so the probability to answer a question right is 0.5 for you and your opponent. First your opponent get question 1, then you get question 1, then he/she gets question 2, then you get question 2 and so on. You can choose to answer the same as your opponent or the opposite. After each question we get to know the right answer. What should you do to maximise the probability to have more rights than your opponent and what is the probability to succeed with this?

Please explain this thoroughly.
Thank you in advance! :)

Explanation / Answer

To maximize the probability of having more rights we can answer exactly opposite to our opponents.

Probability of success by doing so would be=0.5*0.5*0.5=0.125
