Ben sued Jerry and in his defends, Jerry claimed that when he signed the contract , he was only 15 years old. He presented his birth certificate as proof. Who will be successful in this case? Explain your answer in detail. Would the result be different if the contract was for medical treatment? Bussines Law
Explanation / Answer
solution=
Jerry will succeed since one should not enter into contract with a minor that is one under the required minimum age.The contract is thus viewed as being viable only after the minor reaches the minimum age that is 18 years for most countries. If one does not void the contract then when he/she reaches 18yrs the contract becomes automatically sealed. So jerry will win the case as she has the right to void the contract unless its majoring on the basic needs i.e food
