To support an engaging culture for the organization, it takes work and commitment not only to the employees but to the processes of the organization. I feel Google has demonstrated this commitment by encouraging employees to be innovative and contribute their talents to the organization. It is great to have the time and resources to support employees in this manner. There are many companies who do not have the resources to support employees in this at the same level as Google, but offer great programs to ensure employees feel they are welcomed and part of the growing work environment. Absent the tools available to Google, what can a company offer employees to help employees feel they are part of the organization and part of the success of the company to increase employee engagement? Employees are important stakeholder of an organization and in order to have a successful business venture the organization should make it a point to value employees and look after their interests as well because if the employees are not satisfied then it actually becomes difficult for the organization to succeed. I believe that the steps an organization can adopt in order to increase employee engagement are:
1. Involving employees in most of the business decisions
2. Conveying even the small achievements of the organization and any success in business.
3. Employee interests should be give priority as they are important stakeholders as well.
4. If there is profit more than expectations then the employees may be given a share so that they feel that their values and efforts are getting recognized.
5. The human resource department should be effective and act as employee advocate.
