Determine which distribution is represented by each curve. solid dashed .. dotted -2 0 2 4 dotted Choose... dashedChoose.. solid Choose. Georgianna claims that in a small city renowned for its music school, the average child takes at least 5 years of piano lessons. We have a random sample of 20 17

Explanation / Answer

Question 1:

As we go away from the standard normal distribution to a t-distribution, the peak height decreases, therefore the highest peak line here is a solid line.

Therefore the solid line is a standard normal distribution

Also we know that as the degrees of freedom increases more and more, it gets closer and closer to the standard normal distribution, and therefore in the given diagram, the dashed line must represent the t - distribution with 5 degrees of freedom and the dotted line must represent the t - distribution with 1 degrees of freedom.

Therefore the dashed line is a t-distribution with 5 degrees of freedom and t-distribution with 1 degree of freedom is the dotted line.
