Question

3. The boxplot below is produced from a data set of 100 observations on the heights of cricket jumps. 5 10 15 20 Height (cm) Which of the following statements best describes the relationship between the normal scores and the observed heights in a normal probability plot for these data? (A) The relationship will be linear 4.1 % % (B) The relationship will have a curved pattern 45.9%(C) The relationship will be approximately normal The box plots shows that the distributon is sKewed a% (D) The relationship will be roughly uniform

Explanation / Answer

this is a thing to notice that when we talk about sampling distirbution :

there are two type:

1)one is sampling distirbution of sample value for whcih shape would be approximately as per disttribution in this case right skewed

2) second is sampling distribution of mean for which if sample size is higher than 30 ; shape of means of that sample size is approximately normal not individual observations.

this mean if we plot means of sample size 100 of many samples the distribution will be approximately normal
