If it is possible to do these on a calculator (TI-84 is what I have), please show steps on how to insert into the calculator! Calculator method is preferred! Thank you!

of a certain school on the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC) are thought to be normally distributed with the mean of and the standard deviation of 10. I wish to test whether the mean for this school differs from the national average°f 100, ie, H : 100 andH : 100. I calculated a 95% confidence interval for using an SRS and found it to be (99.76, 106.24). Which of the following would be appropriate conclusion if we perform a test of significance with the same sample? Choose all. a. I would reject Ho at 5% level. bíl would fail to reject Ho at 5% level. The test would be resulted that it is significant at 5% level. The test would be resulted that it is not significant at 5% level. C.

Explanation / Answer

As the value 100 lies in the given confidence interval, therefore at 5% level of significance, we cannot reject the null hypothesis here. We dont have sufficient evidence here to conclude that the mean is not equal to 100.

Therefore b) is correct as we failed to reject the null hypothesis here

Also the test is insignificant and therefore d) is also correct here.
