(c) D must be ready to pick up on week 7 (starting), and it takes 2 weeks to manufacture it, which means all the raw material should be ready by week 4 end (i.e. V). V has 1 week lead time, that means raw materials for V should be prepared on week 3 end (i.e. X and Y). Y has a lead time of 1 week, so the order for it should go on week 3 starting, or beginning of week 3
(d) Assuming there is not enough Z at starting of week 1, it takes 1 week for Z to arrive. It takes 1 week for Y and 2 for X without which V wont be made, so add another 2 weeks and total is 3 weeks. It takes 1 week for V to manufacture without which D wont be made, so that makes it 4 weeks. And another 2 weeks for D to manufacture, so in total it is 6 weeks.
