2. Consider the following dataset (10 points): Political Gender Age Income Affilation Ed. Level Record 1 Record 2 Record 3 Record 4 Record 5 Record 6 Record 7 0 54 65 67 23 36 42 0 0 0 Record & 19 32 Record 9 Record 10l 1 Note: For Gender 0 female, 1 male; For Income 1-low, 2 = median, 3 = high For Political Affiliation 1 Democrat, 2 Republican 81 For Ed. Level 1- high school, 2 -college, 3 graduate degree a. For each variable, calculate the appropriate measure of central tendency b. In no more than 150 words, provide a statistical summary (report) of th data for 10 records measured on the 5 variablesExplanation / Answer
a) since the data for the variables Gender, Income, Political affilation and education Level have too few data values therefore the best measure of central tendecy for these variables is MODE.
Mode is the Maximum times repeated observation for a variable in the dataset.
and for Age variable the better measure of central tendecy is Median which is the middle most value in the dataset and is given below
b) The data with us have 10 observation each for five different variables and the variables under consideration are Gender, Age, Income, Political affiliation and Education Level. Since Variables Gender, Income, Political affiliation and Education Level have too few observations repeated several times and the best average or measure of the central tendency seem for these variable is mode. Mode is the value is the observations set repeat most frequently in the data. The mode for Gender is 1 which imply Male persons are more in the data, for Income mode is 2 which means medium income person dominate the given data, for Political affiliation mode is 2 which means that more people do favour to Republics, for education level mode is 3 imply Graduate are more in the given data and for Age is the only variable having different observations and it seems that median suits the most to the data as an average or measure of central tendency to the data. The median age is 39.
c) The stadard deviation and variance is given below
