Question
I have completed the first parts A & B but I am not sure how to interpet and answer part C. The basic data is there but the question is not answered. Please help. Thanks.
C) Upon hearing of these data, some scientists called the study “inconclusive” because the numbers of users of appetite suppressants containing phenylpropanolamine (7 total: 6 in one group and 1 in the other) are so small. What is your response to these scientists?

a) The given null and alternate hypothesis for the chi square test are not correctly given and they should be reversed. The correct and null hypothesis are given here as:
H0: The 2 variables are independent and thus there is no relation between them
Ha: The 2 variables are associated with each other.
c) The p-value here for the test is 0.87 < 0.1 which is the level of significance, therefore the test is not significant and we cannot reject the null hypothesis here. Therefore we dont have sufficient evidence here to conclude that the two variables are associated. Therefore Do not Reject null hypothesis H0 here.
