Question
5. Each group member should design two studies, one that uses a dependent samples t-Test design and one that uses an independent samples t-Test (base them on the same general topic). For both studies, make sure to note your independent and dependent variables. 6 Each group member should write up the results (using fake data) for both studies from #2 above (make sure to have one write-up for the independent samples t-Test and one for the dependent samples t-Test). Write these as you would see them in the results section of an APA empirical research article. If you see a problem with someone else's write-up (or you can tweak their design into an even better study), let them know!Explanation / Answer
Lets say that we are interested in knowing wheter studying tution classes for maths , signficantly improves the maths scores in the final semester for students in class 9th
Independent variables : 2 random samples that form the 2 group of the students . One who took tuition classes , the other group did not took tution classes
Dependent variable : match scores
In the dependent study ,
we shall form a sample of say 10 students and check thier math score before the they took tution classes , then we shall check the math scores of the same students to see if there was any signficant improvement in math scores
Dependent variable : Math scores
Independent variable : Pre and post treatment group , treatment being the tution classes
assumed alpha shall be 0.05 , so if the p value of the test is less than 0.05 then we conclude that result is signficant and we reject the null hypothesis . Also , please note that this would be a 1 tail test as we are interested in the "improvement" part of the claim
