Question
Write on this topic: Imagine a parallel universe, which is classical in nature, i.e. the discoveries of Einstein, Planck, Bohr, Heisenberg, Schrödinger, Debye etc. had not occurred and their developments of the Theory of Relativity and Quantum Theory had never come to fruition. In such a world, technology would have progressed also, just quite differently (ignore the fact, that others may have, sooner or later, discovered these ideas, assume instead that the world is truly classical). Now, think of some modern technology (e.g. washing machine, cell phone, etc.). Write a one-page essay as to how this technology would look and work in a classical world, instead of the world we actually live in. What would have changed? Try to write about something that is not blatantly obvious! For example, a highway bridge may not be too different and a nuclear reactor wouldn’t exist at all, so your essay about these can hardly fill one page. Hint: You may want to start by doing some serious web research to find an interesting topic, before you write the essay. But, make sure you inform yourself about the rules to avoid plagiarism and you meticulously follow them.
Explanation / Answer
Since most of the people are not aware of the fact; or unable to diffetentiate between what is quatum technology and what is classical technology, I would like to point out few things brifely first. Either cell phones or computer-based technology present in this modern world are still classical technical devices, i.e. they are functionig in classical world based on newtonian mechanics. Quantum computers yet to come and they are in the very beginig of the technical development.
In the mordern day human lives on earth, the technology we human use is classical indeed. It is true that we're advenced in communication and computing technology but all technical key concepts they rely on classical mechanics. According to Moores law we might end up with reaching the end point of this classical technical development. While reching the smallest etching level of logic gates in a processor making we might reach this saturation. This is a universal classical effect and this is same for all classical Universes.
Imagining like, instead of slicon the described classical universe might had someother better elements which are very good for fondametal universal logic gates formation like NOT, CNOT. So the dependent technologies would be quite different in their form. For example, the size and shape of processors depend on the quantum tunneling effect while etching the gates. With respect to the property of the material available in the parallel universe would affect the size of a cell phone or a computer; a cell phone might be a size of an elephant or an ant! or gelly monitors for computers
In other way, organic technical advancements might apper, whetherr humonoids or nature made technical advancements. To give a better reference for the above statement, I would like point out an example of bio-memory transportation, where it could be a pre-exist, designed by nature, not made by a humanoid civilization; transporting brain memory to someother humonids or storing in some kind of bio-chemicals. This kind of technology is what we still striving for in technically advanced world. We all are aware of the fact that a Southafrican born American entrepreneur who had recently sent a car into space is working hard to achive this kind of synthetic brain-computer interface systems. And still they are classical.
