012 (part 1 of 5) 10.0 points Consider the group of capacitors shown in the figure 6.1 uF 2.36 F 8.11 F 3.09 F 10.4 V Find the equivalent capacitance of the cir- cuit Answer in units of F 013 (part 2 of 5) 10.0 points Find the charge on 2.36 F capacitor on the left Answer in units of C. 014 (part 3 of 5) 10.0 points Find the charge on 6.1 F capacitor on the top Answer in units of C. 015 (part 4 of 5) 10.0 points Determine the charge on 3.09 F capacitor on the bottom Answer in units of 016 (part 5 of 5) 10.0 points Find the charge on 8.11 F capacitor on the right Answer in units of uC

Explanation / Answer

6.1uF and 3.09 uF are in parallel,

C = 6.1 + 3.09 = 9.19 uF

Now 2.36 , C and 8.11 uF are in series.

1/Ceq = 1/2.36 + 1/9.19 + 1/8.11

Ceq = 1.525 uF .....Ans

-----------------

Q = Ceq V = 15.9 uC

series capacitor have same charge.

Q (on 2.36) = 15.9 uC

----------------------

PD across C, V = Q/C = 15.9 / 9.19 = 1.73 Volt

Q ( on 6.1) = 6.1 x 1.73 = 10.5 uC ....Ans

--------------

Q (on 3.09uC) = 3.09 x 1.73 = 5.33 uC ...Ans

---------------

charge on 8.11 uC = 15.9 uC
