Question

it's a dynamics question . he gave us a table at the bottom of the paper to check our answer . I couldn't be able to get the equations we need to insert on the excel and how you do the calculation

At the instant shown car A is traveling with a speed of 108 km/hr and is decreasing its speed at a rate of 1 m/s. At the same instant car B is traveling on the interchange curve at a speed of 72 km/hr and increasing its speed at a rate of 2.0 m/s. For each vehicle at half second intervals: Calculate and plot the positions of each car until Car B merges onto the straightaway. Plot as a f(x) for 0 Sx S 300m Car B 260 m . Calculate and plot the distance the two cars are apart. (As f(t) for 0sts12s.) Calculate and plot the relative velocity and relative acceleration of Car B relative to Car A. UB/A = UB-UA , B/A-@g-aA . 30.0 (magnitudes only) plot as f (e) for 30°

Explanation / Answer

(a)For car A initial velocity=108km/hr=1.8km/s=30m/s and acceleration=-1m/s2

    At time t, postion(x)=(30.t-(1/2).1.t2)m, 250m, position(y)=250m(fixed),

                    velocity=(30-(1.t))m/s

    For car B initial velocity=20m/s.Cos(60)=10m/s along x axis and

                                            20.Sin(60)=17.32m/s aling y-axis

      At time t position(x)= (10.t+(1/2).2.cos60.t2)m and position(y)=(125+(17.32.t+(1/2).2.Sin60.t2))m

(b) Knowing positions of the car, the distance between them can be obtained.

(c)Similarly the difference in velocities or relative velocity and acceleration can be calculated.
