Some thing is missing but I gave some approach to do this when we have more then tow brand. Assume characteristcs as a brand, thn we have four brand and we test there is evidence of a difference in the mean ratings between the two brands, For this we use Tukey test to comparsion of multiple combination of means
You can use t-test individually for difference in the mean ratings between the two brands
