All too often we come across as angry, condescending, or dictatorial when we try to compel others to see things our way. In business, that is usually very unproductive. Learning how to be persuasive and clear is what this assignment is about 1. Write a one-page paper about how to effectively make an argument. 2. Use proper English grammar; this is a college paper. 3. Use a 12pt Arial font. . Properly double space the paper 5. Use one-inch margins 6. An argument is a set of reasons given in support of an idea, theory or action. One who has mastered the skill of persuasive argument is the real deal cracker. There are various points which one should keep in mind while making a persuasive and clear argument. The points are listed below
a) APPEAR CONFIDENT : looking confident is one of the most imporatnt part of being persuasive. If you are not sure? why will others trust you? stand up, look straight in eye, have a smile, be polite and keep your voice even and enthusiastic.
b) know what you are talking about : do research on the subject ( here the product) so that you know all the features of the product. you will not be convincing if you tell them something they know is not true. its i good idea to study all the pros and cons of the product. Play devil's advocate with yourself!
c) Prepare for their arguments too : audience will probably have arguments against what you are trying them to do. interpret some of the common arguments beforehand and be ready with a good way to win over them.
d) stay cam: keeping calm in whatsoever situation is a virtue which very less possess. Keep calm and try to be friendky in your demeanor.
e) establish an emotional bond : If you can its best to know about the audience before you try to persuade them of anything. Develop a bond because ones its established it gets very easy to make the audience listen to you.
And one should never forget 3 C's while making a persuasive argument.
the three c's are
i) clear
ii) consistent
iii) compelling.
The argument shoul be clear so that everyone understands. The points should be consistently focused upon so that audience does not divulge from the argument. and third one is it should be compelling. it should convince the audience.
