(Note that the game is set up so that every time a player goes fishing he or she will catch a fish.)

Explanation / Answer

2-9

as we have only red and green marbles

a) we are given that P(red) = 1/3 , we also know that sum of Probability is 1

so P(Red) + P(Green) = 1

So P(Green) = 1- 1/3 = 2/3

b) now we are given that we have 24 balls in total

also from the 1st part we know that about P(Green) is 2/3 so , about 2/3 rd balls out of 24 are green

which is 2/3*24 = 16 Balls are Green , 8 Balls are red
