Question
Do some types of films tend to make more money than others? A team of film industry analysts is looking at this question by examining two possible influences on box office gross: the film genre (comedy, horror, or action) and the time of year the film is released (summer or winter). For each genre, the analysts selected, at random, 20 films released during the summer and 20 films released during the winter(All the films were released in the last five years.) The analysts recorded the amount of money, in millions of dollars, each film grossed at the box office. Then the analysts computed the group mean for each of the six groups. These means are displayed below. 42 - 39 Winter 37 Summer 34 32 Comedy Horror Action After checking that the assumptions for the test were satisfied, the analysts performed a two-way ANOVA test. (The dependent variable was box office gross, and the factors were release time and genre.) Their partially filled ANOVA table is shown below. Complete the table, and then answer the questions after the table. Do not round any values in the table except the F statistic values, which you should round to at least three decimal places.Explanation / Answer
