However, you believe that this is a short-sighted measure and consequently, they should pursue other options. It is not a right decision for the management to send the employees home just because the sales of the juices are falling down. This is the time management needs to be aggressive and work employees on how to enhance the sales of the juice with other alternate measures. There are many ways where the management needs to revisit and bring improvements to ensure the sales increases and employees retain the jobs.

The sales manager who is in charge of the juice sales will need to get in to the indepth analysis of how much sales has been reduced from the last 1 year and needs to find what are the reasons for it and needs to ask questions like

Has the quality of juice reduced

Are there any new competitors in the market who is trying to capitalize

Are there any delays in the demand and needs of the customer which is causing the delay

Are the promotion activities needs to be improved

Any changes to be made to the price of the product or release new categories in the juice

These are the basic research sales team needs to do which gives some information on the reasons of sales of juice getting reduced. Based on the research analysis a project charter needs to be prepared and presented to the Management to let them know the reasons and Action plan for what needs to be done to gain back the sales in the market. To do the Action plan a Project scheduling needs to prepared which consists of the issue, Alternate solutions to the issue, deadlines, people who are going to be involved in the project and cost to be incurred.

The project should talk in detail about the below points

The project should address what are the actual issues due to which sales has reduced

Details should be given on what are the plan of action to enhance the sales again

What kind of improvement needs to be brought In to gain the Market capitalization

Should provide substantial details about the cost being incurred for this project and get the approval to move ahead

SWOT Analysis should be made to assess the strength and weakness and also the opportunities available in the market

The project should have the details of timeliness as well

Apart from all of the above there are other points project team needs to be focussing which is supply chain management and proper Inventory management. It is always important for the sales department to ensure that demand always meet the customer needs else there are many chances that product will see a failure in the market. Hence maintaining the proper warehousing and managing the inventory plays an important role for the distribution of the product in needs. There should be no delay in the product distribution to every single outlet who sell the product. This requires an immense amount of co-ordination within the department of organization like sales team, promotion team. Warehouse team, shipping team. All of them have to work as a team and contribute towards the success of the juice sales.
