Question

imagine thtat we want to power a study to detect a significant interaction beyween a binary exposure (e.g gender) and a continous exposure (e.g lead levels) with respect to a coninuous outcome( e.g, intelligence quotient). i ran a computer simulation to estimate power for a range of sample sizes, from N=50 to N=1000. For each sample size N, i generated 1000 virtual studies of size N assuming a true interaction effect. i then ran a statistical test of interaction on each virtual dataset, and i counted the number of times out of 1000 when the interaction achieved statistical significance. outline the steps, including the goal of each step and how it is accomplished.

Explanation / Answer

This is a simple application of Monte carlo approach .......As sample size increases we can expect better representation of interaction.
